Welcome to FOMA

The Friends of Malawi Association (FOMA) was formed in 1969 to foster friendship, goodwill and understanding between the people of the United Kingdom and the people of Malawi. It is strictly non-political. Many of the members have lived and worked in Malawi and wish to maintain their links with the country and with one another.

FOMA, through its Charitable Trust Fund seeks to help the people of Malawi by providing small project grants. If you have a project idea and would like to apply for a grant please see the grants section of our website.

FOMA has an active membership and holds regular events. Each year we organise a popular Spring Event and Summer Garden Party. At these events there is the chance to hear about the projects we support, talks on Malawi’s history and current events, socialising and sharing food with other members. Our AGM is held in September. If you would like to become a member of FOMA, please complete the membership form.

If you have a heart for Malawi, please join our Association. We would love to hear of your experiences and passions of all things Malawian.
